It is a key hub for local independent artists and musicians seeking affordable, long-term or short-term rehearsal, recording and storage services in South London. HISTORY & CLIENTS The studio is founded by drummer Stephen Gilchrist (who has worked with Graham Coxon and The Damned) in May 2011, with the full studio complex opening around November 2013. The studio was under threat of closure due to a rent hike in 2023 but was saved, and continues to operate as a local music hub following a successful community campaign. It has hosted artists such as Black Midi, Fat White Family, Wet Leg, The Damned, The Monochrome Set, Jim Bob (Carter USM), Art Brut, The Cardiacs and The Orb. It was declared a winner for the best music venue category in the 2014 Rock The House competition at a high-profile annual awards ceremony at the Palace of Westminster.
