DESCRIPTION
DEF Studios is a modern music rehearsal facility providing professional spaces for bands and solo artists in the Medway area. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and high-quality gear, the facility features two dedicated rehearsal rooms, each approximately 400 sq. ft. in size. Both rooms are treated with Auralex acoustic tiles to ensure excellent internal acoustics and isolation. Ambient lighting creates a creative and comfortable working environment with air conditioning for comfortable sessions year-round. A dedicated tea and coffee station with complimentary biscuits and muffins is provided for artists during breaks. It has easy loading and the rooms are cleaned and maintained by staff daily.
It has comprehensive backline, allowing musicians to plug in and play with minimal setup. Standard equipment typically includes Marshall, Trace Elliot, and Line 6 guitar and bass cabs. Its PA System by HK Audio and RCF active speakers paired with Sennheiser mics. It has a full Mapex shell pack (drummers may need to bring their own breakables/cymbals).
HISTORY & CLIENTS
A key rehearsal and recording space in the Medway music scene, used by local punk and rock acts. Known users include the punk band The Piss (featuring members Jak Miller, Tom Turner, Zac Schulze, James Colley, and Lee Munday). Other groups include Clarence, Undecided Prophecy, Thee Scarecrows AKA and Billy Childish's various projects.
