BANDSPACE
DESCRIPTION
A long-standing independent music production facility it is recognised by the local East London and Essex music community for providing reliable and affordable creative spaces. The complex is built inside converted single-storey farm outbuildings, specifically configured to handle loud, multi-instrument groups. It has become a preferred location for both local hobbyists and seasoned gigging bands. Bands state they can book lengthy, multi-hour blocks without looking at the clock, making it an excellent resource for independent grassroots acts managing tight budgets. Rooms are large enough to cater comfortably for today's bands being at least 250 sq ft in size - there's even space for a sofa in every room. Because it sits in a rural farm setting, the studio completely sidesteps the parking headaches of urban London studios. It provides a wheelchair-accessible layout and abundant on-site parking. The most celebrated practical feature among musicians is the drive-up layout. Artists note that they can park their vans within four feet of their specific studio door. Drummers and bassists heavily praise this setup, as it means heavy flight cases, valve heads and 4x12 cabs can be rolled straight into the room without navigating stairs, lifts or public footpaths. One feature is a dedicated stage room specifically designed to mimic a real venue layout, allowing touring bands and live acts to map out their physical stage presence, lighting cues and live monitor mixes before heading out on tour. This large room offers a large raised stage area allowing bands to get a real feel for playing their sets in a live gig environment as if they were up on the stage.
