The studio was built to be a hub for local musicians, offering rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, a record label and an artist development programme. A young music company it operates a physical studio hub functioning as a central spot for Brighton’s creative community.
HISTORY & CLIENTS
Before establishing its permanent hub at 27 Castle Street, Small Pond existed as a mobile live recording project and YouTube channel that began around 2013 filming local bands at various venues. It supports the local DIY, emo, math-rock, and punk scenes. Notable bands and artists associated with them include CLT DRP, The Physics House Band, InTechnicolour, Lambrini Girls, Bonniesongs, Sugar Horse, Luo, and H_ngm_n. Other artists include Natalie Evans, Inwards, FES, Skin Failure, Mutiny On The Bounty, Valerian Swing and Alarmist.
