BANDSPACE

Founded in 1986 by jazz musicians Dill Katz and Colin Dudman, it originally started as a few rooms behind a minicab office. It grew during the Brit Pop era and was later taken over and expanded by Viv Broughton in 1996, becoming a major recording and rehearsal complex. It became a popular hangout for jazz musicians and later grew into a staple of the Britpop scene, hosting bands like Blur, Pulp, and Suede.
