DESCRIPTION
The facility was created as part of Folkestone's "Quarterhouse" development into the world's first "Music Town". It is run by music producer Technical Finger (Tim Smith) and singer-songwriter Sophia Stutchbury. It serves as a creative hub for local and touring musicians with equipment, a recording studio, music and production tuition. The studio doubles as a music school, offering 1-to-1 lessons and workshops in music production, voice, and instruments and acts as an RSL Awards Centre. The studio is part of the local music scene in the Folkestone Creative Quarter, often involved in local artist development.
Located near the coast on the east side of Folkestone, it offers a soundproofed, creative space for bands, solo artists, and songwriters. The facility is part of the town’s vibrant music scene and provides a distraction-free environment for developing musical material.
It has a spacious 35m² room designed to accommodate full bands. To make rehearsals easier, the studio provides a "plug-in and play" setup which includes a dedicated PA system and mixing desk. Standard bookings include microphones and cables. For those who prefer not to transport heavy gear, guitar amps, bass cabs, keyboards and drum kits are available for hire upon request.
