The lack of proper spaces for music making, exploring new ideas, styles, genres and instruments and accessing the emerging technologies in music, can seriously inhibit young people's interest, progress and creativity. So says a number of academics and publications.

Education, community and music practitioners met to design a music rehearsal space in a school. Through a process of an evolving concept for how a music department might be structured, the group structured the space into four ‘Zones’ and how they might be used.
